Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a new approach to tissue regeneration and is a valuable adjunct to promote healing in most oral surgery cases including wisdom tooth surgery, dental implants, periodontal defects, and dental bone grafts. We now provide PRP in both of our locations. PRP derives from the centrifugation of the patient's own blood and it contains one's own growth factors that influence wound healing. There is a reduction in bleeding and enhanced soft tissue healing and bone regeneration. Since the patient's own blood is used, there are no side effects or chance of immunologic reactions.
